CCDT submitted several projects for consideration for the Scottish Government’s Town Centres Fund and two were selected. The first was installation of low level lighting along the seafront footpath. This footpath is well used into dusk and beyond by local people, including dog walkers and lighting the footpath has made it much safer. CCDT has plans to install some additional lighting bollards there to further enhance safety. By keeping the lights at a low height, views across the estuary to Fife and the lights of St Andrews are not obscured by light pollution. The LED fitments used also minimise energy usage.
