Carnoustie is a coastal community and aswell as the splendours of its world famous golf courses, the town enjoys a superb seafront with rockpools and stretches of flat sands as the tide ebbs. Our varied beach area attracts a wide range of birdlife both resident and visiting, and the rockpools are full colourful and fascinating sea creatures.

CCDT is grateful to the Dunhill Links Foundation for its generosity in funding the erection of four stylish interpretation boards illustrating just a small selection of the flora and fauna to be found at the Carnoustie seafront.

If we can identify further funding, CCDT hopes to add a free to use publicly accessible telescope so that some of that flora and fauna can be seen up close and personal.  Scope for more interpretation boards on some of the other popular walks around the town is being explored.
